Guitar Garden - Music for Children
Children on the computer, phone or gaming all day or watching TV are at a disadvantage
when it comes to learning and academic progress.
Music has been proven to help children's executive abilities, abstract reasoning and
right and left brain coordination. Using the body to play music brings the physical element of coordination in too.
Online lessons are not ideal for young children
who need to be guided to play in the right positions for their size, etc. It is important for children to have an understanding of what music is ie., rhythm, melody, dynamics, harmony, tempo, etc. Simply handing a child with no understanding of these factors an instrument can change what should be fun and fulfilling into a technical task. My studies in eurhythmics,harmony, flute, guitar and ukulele, dance and movement brings an introduction of how these factors combine to aid in the playing of music.
